2000 Jeep Wrangler V8 Conversion
This project started out as a 2000 Wrangler. We did a frame off build. The jeep has a 5.3L and a 4L60E automatic 4 speed tranny out of a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban. The ECM control module wiring and the drive by wire gas peddle was a bit tricky but we did it. The front and rear differentials are Dana 44’s with 5:13 gears out of a 2005 Jeep Rubicon. We did a slite lift with a Teraflex long arm suspension. If you can see it in the pictures we changed the shifters to cable shifters to fit side by side in the console. We used Rock Jock sway bars. The jeep has a real working snorkel system that vents not only the air intake but also the transmission and differentials. The fenders took a little work as well. We used Gen Rite fenders but had to fabricate in the inner stock parts of the OEM fenders. Custom stainless dash with tilt wheel from Ididit. The rocker guards are from Pure Jeep. We are running 35” BF Goodrich tires and 4 wheel disc brakes. Before we assembled the Jeep we sprayed the inside and underside of the body with bed liner. We converted the tailgate to a convention fold down style. It has Harley Davidson Road King headlamps. For some extra steering power we put in a Durango steering box. We also used an AC pump from a Chevy S-10 pickup. It is painted in a gray water base with a matte clear coat. We had Probuilt Transmission in Holbrook dial in the transmission and transfer case. We also used Rick’s Custom Fab to do some of the fabrication work. As you can see and read, this project took a lot of talent. It just goes to show just how good Modern Auto Body can repair your conventional collision repair. Thanks for your interest.
